Park Slope Townhouse

Located in the Park Slope Historic District of Brooklyn, this magnificent 1889 Neo-Grec brownstone has been fully restored and brought back to life. Using the original details as the starting point of the project, KA set out to design a single-family home which celebrates the old and thoughtfully integrates the new.

The meticulously restored landmark facade has Romanesque Revival style details, a classic entry surround, and a bracketed wood cornice.

The interior details were carefully restored while deliberately maintaining existing imperfections. The kitchen and bathrooms were gutted and a new bathroom was created on the parlor floor. The materials used are few, teak for cabinetry, dolomite stone for tiles, and limestone for the floor.

The original brick of the rear facade features segmental arches and a dogtooth cornice. A new steel deck connects the parlor floor to the outdoors and an enlarged window opening at the kitchen provides expanded views to the garden.
